Well, It's Wednesday - an annotated foto letter

Dear Song of Harlem, (but zing, you writing to songs now?)

I press on. Here in New York, rain and mist have pelted the city streets. (stay dry, tho!) Here's me cheesing on my way in to work today.

The temperature stooped down to 65° F on this early day in August, a precursor to the coming Fall. (Yallz ready?)

For the past few weeks, I have, yes, been compiling a Wellness Wednesday newsletter (where it at tho?), that I hope to return to during the next astrological season of Virgo. (ohhhh)

I have had to re-pace myself as I recently returned to work from being on leave. (you insideee tho) So far, it has been a good return. I see myself asserting myself but with greater empathy.

Here's me on my first day back at work - purple for the win! (bag life is back boyyy!)

I look forward to going peach picking on Sunday, August 18th. A good, tight group of people are gathering and we are excited for it. (i like how u speaking for me zing)

I initially was considering postponing this event, like the upcoming soak for lack of interest, (rsvp or swv, rsvp or swv...) But people are reaching out for these peaches, and so Peach & Possibility 2024 it is!

You know, we've been going peach picking since 2019. We missed two years but so far this will be our fourth year going up to farms in the Hudson Valley and it's been sweet. Here's three collages of our Peach & Possibility days for 2019, 2022 & 2023.

Yesterday, I presented with the  Wake Up Everybody Movement 7 AM Zoom call. Thank you to Angela, T.W., Sis Amadoma, John and anyone else on the call that I didn't catch.

There I offered a virtual soak circle and went through in a question and answer kind of way how we started soaking. (i see you!) I felt encouraged in leadership, supported and motivated by the Wake Up Everybody team lead by Shawnee Benton Gibson, and am so thankful for the opportunity. Here's a graphic announcing the event. (lookin serious zing 🧐)

On the 19th of August we approach the Sturgeon Moon which is a moon that signifies when the fish known as sturgeon return to the Great Lakes.

The fish dem were plentiful!  (put de patois down!) Here's a photo from the web of what the fish looks like.

These particular fish are near 5,000 years old, at least their line goes back that far and so there's been an effort to preserve these ancient prehistoric fish

We’ve also had a few new orders come in. Thank you for the support always. (you're welcome ...umm... you are welcome?)

People are trying out the bath teas, and skin teas, (you just making things up zing...yes, hence why i am alchemist!!) and just all the things on our site including our new line known as ulu•leko

Members, standby for a new set of body butter on its way to you! (i see you, potential members trying to get that butter...it ain't too hard to get!)

I also want to thank my oldest sister for getting on the Wake Up Everybody Movement call because it was good to be in space with her and to hear her voice afterward.

And then my other sister and one of my nieces have sent some new pictures of their babies so it warms my heart to see the puhnoonoos. (wait, where the fotos of the noonoos!!)

This weekend promises to be pretty meaningful as well. I will be presenting a soak demonstration with the GNA Studios Treat Yo'self Self-Care event in Harlem, so I'm pretty excited about that. (girl u outside again?)

Yesterday I also had a doctor's appointment and it went pretty well. (did doc say to sitcha'assdown)

I was running a little bit late because I was leaving the zoom call, but they were pretty cool about it. And yeah, I think John and I are may try and catch the corn festival in Beacon. (issa cuckoo for cocoa puffs, not cuckoo for corn!!)

All in all, a good week past, and trusting a good week coming.

How fare thee, though? (hmph, she nosy too!)

and we are out. (and i am n)

with love, z

:P
