Hold your heart, on delicate, Love your body, on care.
Nzingha here fam, heyyy..
A few weeks have passed, and not going to lie, a good old fuzzball of worry has got me a bit…ahhhhh!!! As some of you know, my kidneys are not in top function and I may one day need a transplant. With many transplant surgeries you have to be very diligent about taking therapeutic medicine everyday.
Do you have experience with taking medicine everyday? How do you help yourself remember to do so? I think despite my dance through each day, worry got me a little in its clutch. Y'all should see me now reorienting my kitchen and fridge so that it reflects more of the good things that my body deserves. Remind me to share on how salt can be a coping mechanism. Mmmhmm.

pieces of a poem
Eve after evening, part III ...she lifted each and always. every leaf friendly and every leaf light, inhaled every leaf loaded, every leaf lent every leaf lined, every leaf loaned, every leaf layered, every leaf lower, loved, every leaf loping, weak, deep, loping tea in the dark, waiting for souls to return. two sleep, two dream, two lope limp in the dark waiting for my soul to return. she lifted her harriet and her ida and her bee and her zora and her anarka and her ayiti and her ratón and her amandla and her heart. she lifted her heart, heavy, as well unaware that her heart was failing, unaware as cells squirmed and scratched her insides that her heart had begun to attack itself. yet, she lifted me held me across a field of time as far as valparaíso from thasos...

Don’t Take Anything Personally
From the Four Agreements:
“Whatever happens around you, don’t take it personally. Nothing other people do is because of you. It is because of themselves. All people live in their own dream, in their own mind; they are in a completely different world from the one we live in. When we take something personally, we make the assumption that they know what is in our world, and we try to impose our world on their world.”
